We can turn any song into art. What is this? Some might say that the image above is Modern Art inspired by Piet Mondrian, Jackson Pollock, Yaacov Agam or Damien Hurst. Others might say that it is just a series of rectangles of various widths and colors. It’s not Art because it does not depict anything; it’s just pattern.
One could play Redemption Song by interpreting this cNOTE. TM Specifically, each rectangle represents a note. The rectangle’s color denotes pitch and its size represents duration. For instance, a blue square depicts a “full,” “D” note. The notes are arranged from left to right and top to bottom. It is similar to reading a page from a book. (See the ARTIST page for a detailed description of a cNOTE.)
Erik Rosen saw music while in the medical and opiate abyss of a stem cell transplant. There was no sound. Music manifested itself as an image in his hyper-sterilized hospital room. Seeing music is one incarnation of a phenomenon called synesthesia. It was burned into Erik's memory. It was a trip.

During his recovery, he often recalled the musical images in his mind. Erik attempted to reproduce these images in a physical form that others could experience. It was not as easy as he expected. He experimented with dozens of media, materials and processes. It took him six months to produce the "cNote" system, which accurately depicts the synesthetic vision of music that he saw in the hospital. "I was obsessed with this project," Erik said. "It was all that I could think about. I felt like Richard Dreyfuss in Close Encounters of the Third Kind."
Nonetheless, every cNote still requires many hours of manual labor. Each musical note in a song must be manually inserted into the artistic piece. The song must then be transformed into an image. The objective is to strip away everything but the song's essence to reveal the music in its own, most appealing, light. Each cNote has its own characteristics and no two are the same. Each song has its own aesthetic and dimensions. It takes several days to produce one cNote.

We are the only source for cNotes. You can be assured that your cNote is genuine, original and authentic. cNotes are not only protected by our proprietary process, but all of the appropriate documents have been registered with the Patent and Trademark Office. Custom cNotes use archival paper and best-in-class printing processes. They have a modern aesthetic and are perfect for the person who has everything. They are ideal gifts for anniversaries, birthdays, graduations and other special occasions. For instance, turn a couple’s wedding song into a cNote
